The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), recently approved by Congress and signed by the President, increased funding for water, sewer, energy efficiency and renewable programs administered by the Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority (GEFA), including:
- Clean Water State Revolving Fund
- Drinking Water State Revolving Fund
- State Energy Program
- Weatherization Assistance Program
GEFA also expects to administer new programs funded through ARRA, including:
- Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant program for cities under 35,000 people and counties under 200,000 people
- Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate program
GEFA is currently developing guidelines and application processes to distribute ARRA funds. Entities interested in these new and expanded programs should take the following steps to stay informed of project developments and future funding opportunities.
