Advanced Energy Strategies
By focusing on renewable energy solutions, individuals can advance their support for energy conservation efforts in Georgia. If you have any questions about the Governor’s Energy challenge, email us at energy@gefa.ga.gov.
Carbon Emissions
Individuals can reduce the impact they have on the environment by using energy more efficiently and by purchasing renewable energy. TerraPass carbon offsets are one way that individuals can fund clean energy and other projects that result in direct, measurable reductions in carbon emissions. To measure your “carbon footprint” and learn more about reducing emissions of greenhouse gases, visit the Terrapass website.
Zero Energy Homes
The U.S. Department of Energy’s Zero Energy Homes initiative is an effort to combine state-of-the-art, energy-efficient construction and appliances with commercially available renewable energy systems such as solar water heating and solar electricity. This combination can result in net zero energy consumption from the utility provider. Zero Energy Homes are connected to the utility grid but can be designed and constructed to produce as much energy as they consume annually. For more information about this initiative, click here.
